This little hidden gem is awesome! Great food at a great price. The only dislike is that they don't have a shop in Tampa. I will definitely be going here again next time I'm in the area.

There is no love more sincere than the love of BBQ. That's Poppa's BBQ in Clearwater, FL, slogan and it pours out in the taste. This is a Memphis style BBQ spot and it bought me back home to that flavor pallet that | grew up on. I still can't believe it's on the beaten path in an industrial area of Clearwater. I highly recommend a half rack of ribs but you can't go wrong with the pulled pork sandwich or smoked chicken. Sides are on point also from the home cooked backed beans or the southern mustard based potato salad. The total menu is small but that just means perfection and consistency are always there. If you want true southern barbecue and a great price then please stop by Poppa's as soon as you can.

If you’re thinking about trying Poppas BBQ—just go. The pulled pork was tender and smoky, the baked beans and slaw were spot on, and everything came together perfectly. On top of that, they gave us each a complimentary rib for being first-time customers—and it was incredible. Great food, great people, and an awesome first impression. We’ll definitely be back. 🔥🍖

Hard to find such a good deal for barbecue on the St Pete's side of the bay. Lunch specials are when to visit, but go ahead and add a side. Instant service at the counter. Easy parking.

Fantastic BBQ & Even Better Service I discovered Poppa’s BBQ when I went to get an X-ray at the Chiropractor next door. Poppa’s BBQ is a little BBQ spot that is a hidden gem. I purchased a rack of ribs. The ribs are tender and full of flavor. I also got 4 quarters of legs and thighs. ( Both freeze and reheat with ease. ) The chicken is perfectly seasoned. For me this means, adding my own seasonings if needed. I also ordered individual sides of potato salad, beans and coleslaw. They tasted homemade and I could tell Poppa’s BBQ takes pride in their food! What really sets this place apart is the customer service. Stephenie and Nicki were friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to make me feel welcome. It’s the kind of place where they remember you and treat you like family. If you’re craving delicious BBQ with a personal touch, this restaurant is a must‑try. I’ll definitely visit again and again!
